Anonymous asked: For all the dudes writing in urging us not to name names out of fear of false accusations, I promise you there are infinitely more actual, unreported incidents than there are false accusations. By perpetuating the absurd idea that men's egos are worth more than the voices of abused women, you contribute to the culture of repression and you call every woman's credibility into question. Instead of doing that, just listen to women and believe what they tell you. They aren't lying.

Anonymous asked: Sean Carlson (FYF founder): he didn't physically harass me, but I met him at an after party in Brooklyn a few months ago. He was super wasted and hit on both my friend and I. Kept telling us we were gorgeous, and that we should know him, tried to get us to go back to his place after. General sleazy vibes.

Anonymous asked: Was out on a Monday night meeting with a promoter who was in from out of town. People started doing tequila shots at 10PM and when I said no, he said "don't be that girl." Because I was responsible when I had to go to work in the morning.

Anonymous asked: I was pretty much sexually harassed from 15-19 years old by a member of a pop rock band that used to be in CT and moved to CA. He groomed me from a young age and manipulated me until I was old enough for him to have his way with me. I am afraid to tell anyone since the abuse went on for so long and not many people close to me understand the level of trauma it caused. He's a predator. And I have horrific anxiety because of him. I hope someone out there believes me & that it doesn't happen in CA

Anonymous asked: last year, G-Eazy (rapper) knowingly had sex with an underage girl after one of his concerts, and I'm pretty sure this wasn't the only time. Just a heads up to everyone

thedeadtrick asked: I want to say thank you to everyone who posts here. I studied Music Industry Management and graduated from the University of Memphis. We are taught in the industry, "don't burn bridges," "its all about who you know and who knows you." And from that indoctrination, we're taught not to name names. I have on numerous occasions been left hinting and alluding to whom I am referring to and remaining quiet in hopes of success. Thank you, everyone who has spoken up and changed the game.

Anonymous asked: I was beaten up by a man in a popular emo/rock band with whom I was in a relationship. It's astounding how many music industry girlfriends are regularly abused but we forgive drunk moments and creativity frustrations. To make matters worse, Marie Claire magazine wanted to publish my story... until they realized this musician was on the B-list and not the A-list. Apparently the magazine thinks that stories aren't relatable or worth telling unless they include an Adam Levine-like figure.

aintsafeyyc: It’s pretty nuts how this came up. A few weeks ago I was discussing with a friend how I had been essentially ostracized from the local music scene for discussing sexual harassment and assault. I started a similar tumblr detailing some of my experience but ended up deleting it since it was linked to my own personal account. Some things have come to light recently so I decided to make another one yesterday and then I saw yours. I’m borrowing the name in solidarity and hoping this can continue in other cities. Let’s hold predators accountable for their actions.

Hey! I love your blog so much and can’t explain how much I appreciate you doing this. I thought maybe a post I did might be worth sharing. It’s not calling a specific person out but it’s definitely short and relatable to people on your page. I just wanted to say thank you so much though. http://beatsbeforeboys.tumblr.com/post/138025737173/the-life-of-a-female-producer
