The Buttertones are rapists, sexists, and racists. Multiple statements have recently come out regarding Sean, Richard, and Cobian. All statements have been shared on an instagram page called @exposing_the_buttertones

I hold a lot of respect for what this blog is doing and am incredibly appreciative of what it is accomplishing as well, but I am unfortunately only discovering this blog through my interest in the work of one of the aforementioned bands/men. In fact, they are my favorite artist. This is not a dilemma I have ever encountered before. What should I do? Or, better yet, what can I do?

I narrowly escaped an attempted assault by Wyatt Bridges, a manager at a Los Angeles venue we both worked at. He had been flirtatious at work in a way I thought was inappropriate long before this occurred. It was our company holiday party, I was clearly drunk and trying to collect myself alone in the kitchen space backstage before going home. He entered the room, looked at my empty glass, physically cornered me and chased me out of the room when I made a break for it. I exited out the door to the kitchen, closing the door on him while he pried it open with his arm. That part was caught on surveillance video which I later asked to see after I confronted him at our sister venue and he denied everything. I confronted him in front of witnesses. I’ve seen him be violent with other colleagues and no one I told my story to was surprised.  From what I understand, he was encouraged to leave the organization (not fired) and eventually got his job back after his replacement quit. Beware. I’m sure I’m not the first and won’t be the last.
